There was great excitement recently when Lenny the Leek came to St. Teilo’s for a week. ‘Try a school meal week’ was a very eventful week, with Lenny popping in every day for lunch along with Mrs D’Ivery and Mrs Rhys-Owens from Pembrokeshire County Council. During the week Mum’s and Dad’s were invited to join their children for lunch and changes were made to the way lunch was organised, all these initiatives proved a great success. On Thursday 8th of May Lennie popped in once again to see how the changes, including a new salad cart, were going, much to the children’s enjoyment!
Pictured with Lennie and pupils of St Teilo’s are L-R: Josie, Dining Room Assistant; Jane, Learning Support Assistant; Paula, Lunchtime Supervisor and Sara Rhys-Owens, Business Development Manager, catering services.

St Teilo’s girls’ football team represented Pembrokeshire in the Welsh Urdd Schools Finals held at Aberystwyth on Saturday. St Teilo’s qualified by winning the local round held at Pennar and then the Pembrokeshire finals at Camrose. In Aberystwyth they won their four group games without conceding a goal and met Trimsaran in the semi-finals. They narrowly lost 1-0 but the girls played superbly throughout the competition and were a real credit to the school and Pembrokeshire.
Many thanks to the parents who supported the team.

The popular half term football school run by Mrs Nicholls at the Tenby Leisure Centre during half term was a great success again. Eager footballers from local infant and junior schools honed their skills and had great fun too. The three pupils below show off the medals and the football that they won!

St Teilo’s footballers have done their school proud this month yet again. The pupil pictured below has played for the county against Ceredigion, while another has played for Pembrokeshire in the Welsh Schools Football Finals held in Aberdare, and the school football team played in the finals of the Ollie Morgan Memorial Shield at Bridge Meadow on the 12th of April.
In even more football news, these six skillfull footballers played as part of Tenby’s girls' Under Elevens football team, and achieved an excellent rd place in the Pembrokeshire League.
But St Teilo’s soccer players’ achievements don’t end there. St Teilo’s, who were the winners of the finals of the under 11’s Community Cup covering the South and West Wales Region, represented Swansea City in the South of England Regional Tournament at Leyton Orient in London!
Their performance to represent Swansea City saw them lose only to Ynsymaerdy 1-2 (G 1), beating Penyrhent 2-1 (L 2), Penygaer 2-1 (H1, G 1), St Helens 2-0 (L 1, H 1), Tenby Juniors 2-1 (H 2) in the final.
At Leyton Orient, they were pipped to the semi-final by Millwall’s 5 points to St Teilo’s 4 points. During the first round, they lost to Luton 3-0, drew with Millwall 0-0, lost to Swindon 1-0 and beat Leyton Orient 1-0. Well done to all who took part!

Thursday, 20 March 2008 |
On the last day of the Easter Term, people passing by Class One were astonished to see that it was in a state that a short-sighted person, could, if they'd forgotten their glasses, charitably describe as not wholly untidy.
An explanation for this unprecedented event is still to be discovered. The most obvious cause, i.e. Mrs. Blackledge's absence, proving to be incorrect.
In a nearby room, the utterly brilliant and under-appreciated almost competent school cleaner, was kicked awake from his slumbers on a thick bed of dust and informed of the momentus event. "Oh yeah, it's because Mrs. Blackledge is amazing and fantastic and efficient. And I'm not just saying that because she gave me a creme egg and the tidyness was definetly not just a random happening." he mumbled untruthfully, before drifting back off to sleep.
The big question that remains is, are the chances of Class One being left in a civilised condition again, greater or lesser than the chances of winning the national lottery three weeks in a row without first purchasing a ticket? Hmm, about even I'd say.

Thieves respect property. They merely wish the property to become their property that they may more perfectly respect it.
